The European project “The future we choose” was born bearing in mind that Schools need to find solutions to help very young pupils recognize crisis situations and be able to overcome them, to understand which are their rights as children and citizens.
The aim of the project is to teach pupils how to act properly in crisis situations such as earthquake, fire, flood, deadly viruses, terrorist acts and climate change. They need to be prepared to deal with unexpected situations. The project will teach them how to use their abilities, how to create new ones, to adapt and find fast solutions to move forward when facing crisis. Pupils will step through brainstorming activities, lessons in which they learn from teachers or other professionals, extracurricular activities and also through the experience given by activities in which real crisis situations are simulated. The content is about past events and how people managed to pass over life threatening situations (the 2nd World War, the communist period, natural disasters, diseases) and also about difficult situations mankind is facing nowadays, about the way towns and countries are organized and which are their rights. The activities will be developed using new teaching techniques, experiential learning, digital tools.
